In March of 2004, I began the process of leading a new playground initiative for our elementary school. I attended a Playground Conference to learn about the safety standards, various equipment vendors, and playground design. At the conference, I was encouraged to interview different equipment companies to select a reputable and reliable partner.
Shortly after my return from the conference, we scheduled a meeting with N.C. Playscape Construction. We were so impressed that we looked no further! They were exactly what we wanted: local, reliable, affordable, and trust-worthy. We trusted their opionions and expertise from the very start and were never disappointed!
After holding a Design Day with the students (where they drew their dream playground), Nick and Joey met with us to create our final playground design. They helped us merge our desires and needs to create a playspace that was safe, attractive, and met our budget. They were so knowledgeable about safety standards, space needs, equipment colors, and other design components that we were confident that our playground would look exactly like what we had envisioned!
In June, the playground equipment arrived. Unlike other companies that require you to unload your own equipment, N.C. Playscape Construction met the truck and unloaded each piece! The students and teachers looked on with excitement as each piece was unloaded with care and checked in for accuracy.
Then the building began! N.C. Playscape Construction removed all of the unsafe equipment we previously had and relocated some pieces that could still be used. They carefully augered all the holes and began building the playground. Each afternoon, they made sure that the area was secured and clean before leaving the site. Never once was trash, cardboard, or plastic left on the site. They constantly maintained and left the playground looking attractive to all passerbys. Even in the intense heat of the summer, they worked on our playground and had it built before scheduled! It was absolutely perfect and exactly what we had dreamed about!
One other thing that really impressed me about N.C. Playscape Construction was how trustworthy they were. We constantly had children looking on as the playground was being built, and I never once had to worry that they would hear a profane word or action. In everything they did, N.C. Playscape Construction was professional and filled with integrity. They are a family-owned business, and one that I would recommend to anyone!
Now that our playground is completed, it is used daily by our 360 Kindergarten through 3rd grade students. It is well-loved and is the source of much imagination, creativity, and physical activity. One piece that is being used constantly is our rock wall, and some of the rock holds began loosening a tiny bit. I emailed Nick and Joey asking how I could fix it, and the next morning they were out there tightening up the rock holds. I don't know of another company that would do that for their customers! Every time I have needed N.C. Playscape Construction, they have been of the utmost help. I know that we won't need to even consider another company when taking on a playground project in the future. N.C. Playscape Construction will be the only company we'll ever work with again! They have proved to truly be the best!
